Integrative Counselling in Plymouth

What is counselling Like?
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space where you can slow down, breathe, and talk about whatever feels important to you. It’s a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement or pressure.
You don’t need to arrive with the right words or a clear idea of what you want to work on. Many people come to counselling because something feels overwhelming, confusing, or stuck. Others come because they want things to feel different, even if they’re not quite sure how yet.
Counselling is a collaborative process — we take things at your pace, and we gently make sense of things together.
My Availability
I offer appointments Monday to Saturday, including some evening and weekend availability. My current working hours are:
Monday 10:00 – 14:30
Tuesday 10:00 – 14:30
Wednesday 10:00 – 14:30
Thursday 10:00 – 14:30
Friday 16:00 – 20:00
Saturday 10:00 – 16:00
I am not always able to answer the phone during the day, but I will aim to answer any messages within 48 hours.

What Sessions Are Like
Sessions last 60 minutes and take place weekly or fortnightly, or maybe on a less structured basis, it depends on what feels right for you. Some people come for a short period to focus on something specific; others stay longer. There’s no right or wrong way to do therapy — we’ll find a rhythm that suits you.
You’re welcome to bring whatever feels important — even if it’s just a sense that something isn’t quite right.

Where I Work
I offer in-person sessions from a private therapy room within my home in Plymstock, Plymouth.
The space has been set up to feel calm, comfortable, and separate from the main living areas of the house, so you can have your session in a quiet and dedicated environment.
The therapy room is located on the ground floor and is accessed via the front door, which has a single step at the entrance. There is a private toilet available for client use.
I understand that attending therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to make the space as welcoming and discreet as possible. If you have any questions about access or the setting, please feel free to get in touch before your first session.
How I Work
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I draw from different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you, including person-centred, CBT, and Gestalt therapy. This type of counselling is called integrative counselling and the simplest way to understand it is that it means I believe that there is no one size fits all counselling. We are all so different that it makes sense we all need something different from our counsellor.
Together, we might explore your thoughts and feelings, look at patterns in your relationships, or gently notice what’s happening in the present moment. I’ll always check in with you about what feels helpful — we shape the work together.
My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and able to be fully yourself.
I offer a free 15 minute video call, where you are free to ask any questions and to make sure that I am the right counsellor for you.
You’ll always have time afterwards to think things over and decide whether you’d like to book a session or explore other options, there’s no pressure to decide on the spot.
I am a member of The NCPS and work within their ethical guidelines. You can read more about ethical counselling by following this link to the NCPS website.

How much does counselling cost?
£55 per 60‑minute session
I offer sessions either in person or online, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
I hold a limited number of reduced‑cost spaces for people on low incomes; if this would make counselling more possible for you, we can talk about it together.
If you are a trainee counsellor building your required hours of personal therapy, I am able to offer a reduced rate for your sessions.
Payment is made by bank transfer or card payment 24 hours before your session. I’ll send all the details when we arrange your first appointment.
Qualifications and experience
If you’re wondering about my background, here’s a little about my training and where I’ve worked.
I hold a Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Heartwood Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I’m an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
Alongside my private practice, I work as a counsellor at Hamoaze House and at the Bereavement Counselling Service here in Plymouth. Before that, I volunteered with Samaritans, ChildLine, and the crisis text service SHOUT — experiences that taught me how to sit alongside people in some of their hardest moments without rushing to fix or minimise.
I keep my learning alive through ongoing professional development in neurodivergence and ADHD, as well as bereavement and grief support. You’ll also find me listed on Psychology Today and the Counselling Directory. If you have any questions you are welcome to get in touch by visiting my contact page.
Client testimonials
You won’t find client testimonials here, and that’s deliberate. The counselling relationship isn’t a commercial transaction — it’s built on trust, confidentiality, and a space that belongs entirely to you. I’d rather invite you to a free introductory call so you can get a feel for how I work and whether we’d be a good fit, with no pressure and no obligation.

What can i talk about in counselling?
You can talk about anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship stress, overwhelm, burnout, or a change that’s left you feeling stuck. If it feels important or confusing for you, we can talk it through. There are no right or wrong things to bring to counselling.
We work at your pace, and you don’t need to have it all worked out before you book. All feelings are welcome, and we’ll start from where you are.
Do you see clients Online as well as in plymouth?
Yes, I offer Counselling support in Plymouth and online. If getting to a room in person feels easier, you can meet locally; if travel, routine, or energy levels make that tricky, online sessions give you another option. Either way, the focus stays on what feels manageable for you. I use a secure platform called Doxy to hold my online counselling sessions to ensure that our sessions stay private. You wont have to download anything to your computer or phone, you can join the sessions with a link that I will send you before the start of the session.
What does integrative counselling mean?
It means I use a mix of counselling approaches and keeps the work shaped around you. There isn’t a fixed script. Sessions stay person-centred, gentle, and neurodivergent-affirming, so the support can fit anxiety, masking, burnout, or a big life transition without rushing you. You can find out about different counselling approaches by visiting the Mind website where they have a section all about the different types of therapy available.
If you’re feeling unsure, that’s completely okay. You’re welcome to get in touch for a free introductory call and see how it feels.
