Get in Touch
Taking the first step can feel daunting, especially if you’ve never had counselling before. If you’d like to ask a question or arrange a free introductory call, I’d be happy to hear from you.
You do not need to explain everything perfectly. A brief message is enough to start with.
Ways to get in touch
You’re welcome to get in touch in whichever way feels most comfortable. If I can’t answer straight away because I’m in session, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
There’s no obligation to book if you decide I’m not the right fit.
What happens next?
When you get in touch, we’ll arrange a free introductory call. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions, find out how I work, and decide whether counselling with me feels right for you. If you’d rather book your first appointment straight away, that’s absolutely fine too.
If we decide to work together, I’ll send you a counselling agreement and a client information form before your first session.
There’s no pressure to make a decision during the call.
Where to find me
My counselling room is based in Plymstock, Plymouth, in a quiet residential setting with easy on-street parking nearby. It’s designed to feel calm, comfortable and private, giving you a space where you can talk without feeling rushed.
The therapy room has one step at the entrance and access to a toilet. If you have any questions about accessibility or need to discuss your individual requirements before your first appointment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If travelling isn’t practical, or you simply feel more comfortable at home, I also offer online counselling across the UK using a secure video platform.
Whether we meet in person or online, my aim is to help you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible from the moment we begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can contact me directly without a referral. Some people choose to let their GP know they're having counselling, but that's entirely up to you.
-
How many sessions will I need?
There isn't a set number. Some people come for a short period to work through a specific issue, while others choose longer-term counselling to explore more longstanding patterns or experiences. We can review how things are going as we work together, so you're never committed to more sessions than feel helpful.
-
How much does counselling cost?
Individual counselling sessions cost £55 and last for 60 minutes. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee spaces. If cost is a concern, please feel free to ask about current availability.
-
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. I offer both in-person counselling in Plymouth and online counselling across the UK using a secure video platform. Some people prefer the convenience of online sessions, while others find meeting in person feels right. We can talk about which option best suits you.
-
How often will we meet?
Most people choose to attend weekly, especially at the beginning, as this helps build momentum and consistency. However, counselling should fit around your life, and we'll discuss what feels most appropriate for you.
-
What if I'm nervous about coming?
Feeling nervous is completely understandable. Starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you've never spoken to a therapist before. There's no expectation to know what to say or where to begin. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
What happens during the free introductory call?
The introductory call is an opportunity for us to meet, talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling, and for you to ask any questions you may have. It's also a chance to see whether I feel like the right counsellor for you, with no pressure to book if you decide I'm not.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
Whether you’re ready to book or simply have a question, you’re welcome to get in touch. I’ll do my best to make the process as straightforward and comfortable as possible.
There’s no pressure to continue. Just a conversation.
